We know that wearing briefs keeps everything tucked away and gives full support, unlike a pair of boxers which make you feel a little freer. That’s why at BOX they stock a simple yet supportive style of briefs, fit for everyman’s wardrobe.

Briefs are an underwear classic, they’re high up the leg with a classic look that epitomize underwear, they’re best used when wearing slightly tighter fitting clothing and help to keep everything in place and secure. A standard go-to style for underwear, they cover your entire backside and package, leaving your upper thighs and leg exposed, making them comfortable with almost anything.  Whether its for everyday dressing or physical activities such as sports, briefs help to keep everything in check, whilst still remaining comfortable.

BOX briefs follow the same formula. Created using the softest Cotton and combined with a elasticated waist, branded with the distinctive BOX logo, these sleek, supportive and frankly quite sexy briefs belong in your wardrobe. Experience comfort and style, moulded into the perfect brief with BOX Briefs, available in both white and black for simple yet effective style.

Anybody can be a BOX boy and with the varied sizes ranging from Small to X-Large there’s something for every package. So why not slip yourself into a pair, feel comfortable and send them a selfie of you in your BOX!

BOX are a hot topic many celebs as we speak!

Top Tips To Look After Your BOX Briefs:

When Washing, use a cool wash to ensure the material does not shrink and the material stays soft and comfortable.

Stop the wear and tear of your briefs by turning them inside out when washing and drying. This reduces pilling which contributes to dulling of the fabric and when drying, stops the sun zapping colour right out of the material.

Washing too often can cause wear and tear, and do not mix colours with whites. This will help to keep the full colour in the material.

Take a look at some of the BOX boys showing off their briefs below.

Eye Wear These, on holiday…

Man wear sunglasses, Man wearing Ray-Bans in a pool, Ray-Bans, Flamingo in pool, Hot guy, Guy in Pool, Sunglasses, Protect your eyes, eye health

You’ve booked your holiday, you’ve packed your case, you’re in dire need of a getaway and want to look the best you’ve ever looked by the pool.

That’s why choosing top notch sunnies to complete the look, protect the eyes and go the only colour of brown a Greek Adonis would be proud of.

We test run a cracking pair of Ray-Ban provided by Eye Wear These. Now I’m going to tell you why taking a stop by Eye Wear These is the perfect place to stop by pre-hols for fashionable glasses, but to keep your eyes in tip-top condition.

Sunglasses are a great fashion accessory, but their most important job is to protect your eyes from the sun’s ultraviolet (UV) rays. Some of the sun’s effects on the eyes include: Cataracts, a clouding of the eye’s lens that can blur vision.

When purchasing sunglasses, look for ones that block out 99 to 100% of both UVA and UVB radiation, so you can keep your vision sharp and eyes healthy. A snapback offers great protection, too!

Depending on your outdoor lifestyle, you also may want to explore performance sunglasses or sport sunglasses.

The amount of UV protection sunglasses provide is unrelated to the colour and darkness of the lenses.

For example, a light amber-coloured lens can provide the same UV protection as a dark grey lens. Your optician can verify that the lenses you choose provide 100 percent UV protection.

ARE ALL RAY-BAN SUNGLASSES UV PROTECTED?

This is a question, which pops-up quite often among shade buyers: are all Ray-Ban sunglasses UV protected? The answer to this question is yes, all Ray-Bans have UV protection. However, not all Ray-Bans provide the same UV protection – depending on the coating of the lenses, there are shades which provide up to 100% UV protection, while other lenses allow a quarter of the light to reach the eyes.

The best thing to do is stop by a registered opticians and give you great advice on protection and what work’s best for your face shape.

Eye Wear These are great at the following;

Authenticity.  Everything they sell is genuine, everything has a warranty.

Mindfulness. Empower customers with knowledge to ensure they have an informed choice.

Excellence. Exercise an understanding for customer needs and wants.

Simplicity. No jargon, just accurate know-how that you can trust.

Appreciation. They love what they do, they trust you will also.

The Top Reasons a Vauxhall Grandland X should be your next car

Vauxhall Grandland X, 4x4, SUV, Car in field, Car in front of Logs, New car

We recently had the privilege of working with Vauxhall when they sent us their brand new SUV and Life HaX tool, to put them through their paces in the modern world. Whilst the SUV may not spring to mind as a must have car in your twenties or thirties – we may have the answers that will change your mind.

The Grandland X

A crossover of ultimate proportion, the Grandland X is Vauxhall’s latest SUV model. Crossover by name, crossover by nature…for someone in his twenties, this car has all the sass that I’m looking for with city living, but could easily ‘cross-over’ into delivering something quite grand in the country.

The Grandland X represents the balance between the functional and emotional benefits of owning a car; it’s both a highly spec’d SUV, ideal for all kinds of family needs, as well an attractive and boldly styled car, adding a sense of ‘grandness’ to the driver’s lifestyle.

Vauxhall see the Grandland X as a car that reflects their adventurous personality – it’s primarily a lifestyle choice, though it has clear functional advantages. Yes, it’s a practical family car for your growing brood, but it’s also quite the toy for any singleton.

The Life HaX tool

Vauxhall Life HaX tool, New tool, Life HaX

Whether you’re a single tech lover or a family man who needs something to help you focus with a car full of kids, the Life HaX tool marks the launch of the Grandland X, the new SUV that was designed with modern parents in mind and has seen Vauxhall Motors look into the ever-changing role of parents to understand what life hacks can help make their lives easier.

The resulting hand-held Life HaX tool helps multi-tasking parents so they can concentrate on enjoying adventures with their family;

  • Lego un-picker – to stop you breaking your fingernails trying to unpick your children’s Lego
  • Wide-angle lens attachment – for those all-important Instagram snaps
  • Macro lens attachment – for awesome close-up photography
  • Power bank – for when your phone runs out of battery on the move
  • iPhone pin – for removing the SIM from your phone
  • Torch – for when you can’t see under the sofa or the back of the boot to find your children’s lost toys
  • Stylus – to give that extra precision when drawing on your tablet
  • Knot un-picker – for when the kids get in a tangle
  • Screwdriver – because traditional household jobs haven’t gone away

With so many tools, ideally you need a bag to carry the Life HaX in. However, if you’re the head honcho of your brood, I imagine you’d have rucksacks or bags to be able to throw the tool in.

It’s greatest bonus for me was the phone charger!

The Reasons you should consider the GrandLand X and Life Hax Tool

A stylish steer

Man driving 4x4, SUV, Vauxhall Grandland X, Sat Nav in car, inside a car

The Grandland X looks as good as it feels to drive – it’s very easy admire its elegant lines, two-tone roof and big alloys. It’s a stand out vehicle when competing for attention in a multi-story car park.

You’ll notice that the new SUV for Vauxhall has taken a slightly different approach to the recognizable style of the brand, something I think brings it into the current era and boasts hope for the years to come.

Unbeatable tech

Boasting an on-board touchscreen, which in the 8-inch configuration tested (there’s also a 7in version) has crisp graphics and is both simple and responsive to operate.

As you’d expect these days it’s all fully connected, whether it’s via Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, a simple USB lead or WiFi. The latter forms part of Vauxhall’s OnStar service, a call centre staffed by advisors who can book hotels or parking spaces for you before sending details to the satnav. Equally as useful, it will alert the emergency services if the car’s airbags are deployed.

A comfortable and spacious ride

Man getting in a 4x4, Vauxhall Grandland X, White Jeep, New Car, Car in Field

The Grandland X is certainly roomy enough to be taken seriously, as well as taller than the two-tone floating roofline might suggest. Its boot capacity is matches its competitors if not easily beats the Nissan Qashqai and Renault Kadjar challengers. What’s more, the space itself is easy to use thanks to a square shape, flat loading lip and a dual-height boot floor on all but the base model. The rear seats can be folded flat too, albeit only in a 60:40 split rather than the 40:20:40 of some rivals.

If you’ve got a big family, it may not be possible to transport everyone in one vehicle unless you drive an SUV. If there’s a darn sight more of you than some families, you need to get from point A to point B at the same time and all you own is a small vehicle, you’re going to have to make multiple trips or take multiple vehicles. One trip in a big SUV, and you’ve saved fuel, taken up less space in traffic and in the car park, and made maximum use of your resources.

The Grandland X has 1,652 litres of boot space, so you can fit all those bulky items safely away, without compromising the seating area.

Unstoppable safety features

Now, whether you’re a family man or one of life’s Casanova’s something you can agree on is road safety. From the first day of the seven-day trial we had with the Grandland X, we noticed it’s unrivaled amount of safety features. Vauxhall have emphasised the attention to safety that’s built into the new Grandland X. Driver Drowsiness Alert has been added to an already impressive array of safety features including collision warning, automatic emergency braking, and pedestrian detection.

The dashboard includes a speed restriction notification system, and easy to use control panel near the gear stick for quick access – the number of alerts really enhance the comfort of driving.

Not forgetting the adaptable Life HaX tool, which also plays a big part in controlling the vehicle and making the driver’s life easier.

The Grandland X has an excellent diesel to mileage ration! More cruising for your money!

Back in the old days (five or more years ago), many SUVs were inefficient diesel hogs. But now, there are most SUVs that are rated to achieve over 30 miles per gallon on the highway, still retaining the capacity and benefits of an SUV.

We worked out that the Grandland X 1.6-litre diesel is the best performer, which promises 70.6mpg in manual guise and 65.7mpg with an automatic gearbox.

That figure drops a bit if you pick the 2.0-litre version – that car is auto only and weighs in with a still reasonable 57.6mpg.

Road tax for 12 months is a very reasonable £140.00.

Your dog will love the Grandland X!

Man and dog in car, man in 4x4, 4x4 spacious,Vauxhall Grandland X, Vauxhall, dog

This one is true — dogs do love SUVs. Ask any dog, and they’ll tell you. In fact, a few manufacturers have even put out dog-friendly editions of their SUVS, strictly to appeal to dogs (and dog owners). Ultimately, using a few accessories, like a pet barrier or pet carriers, you can turn your SUV’s cargo bay into a safe haven for your dogs during travel. It’s not safe to allow your dogs to roam freely through the cabin of your car — they may interfere with your operation of the vehicle, or worse, become dangerous projectiles in the event of a collision.

Must Have Men’s Yoga Clothes Made Easy

MUST HAVE MEN'S YOGA CLOTHES MADE EASY, Men’s Yoga, Yog clothes, Shorts, Stretch, Eco Friendly, Yoga for men

Men who are shifting to yoga from their regular fitness routines tend to think that their baggy sweats will work just as well in their yoga workouts. While this may hold true in some cases, they are typically not suitable for yoga because the material is either not stretchable or breathable enough.

When it comes to men’s yoga clothing, two things should be kept in mind: they should be able to absorb sweat (to prevent sweat from dripping onto the mat) and they should allow enough room for movement to let you do a wide variety of yoga poses.

While you might see a lot of men sporting shorts in yoga class, there is a reason for yoga pants. In yoga, whether it’s hot or not, pants work to absorb the sweat, so when you get into an arm balance, you can hold it for longer without the sweat on your knees or legs causing your arms to slide off of them. And besides absorbing your perspiration, they also keep you covered when you are in the most vulnerable positions.

Yoga pants are meant to be comfortable, efficient at absorbing sweat, lightweight, and functional. This means the fabrics used need to provide stretch, while the design must permit you to get in and out of the poses with ease—to the point where you don’t even realize you have them on.

Surely, people have different tastes and needs when it comes to yoga. Some want a pair that can go from class to a cafe. Others would like the pant to absorb sweat like no other.

What you wear is important!

You can choose to wear shorts, pants, or cropped pants for bottoms, depending on your preference, or the type of yogic practice you will be doing. Those doing Bikram or Hot yoga may want to go for shorts to allow heat to escape the body faster, since you will be doing breathing exercises and asanas in a heated room. Typically though, men wear long or cropped pants for doing yoga. Cropped hemp pants tend to have wide-legged seams, which is not that recommended for beginners, especially if they decide to do faster paced styles of yoga.

If you decide to wear shorts to your yoga sessions, do everyone a favour and choose a pair that is sweat absorbent AND fits just right. You wouldn’t want to have any incidents of “indecent exposure” while you’re bending over and doing all types of lower body stretches. Pants can be made of any of the following materials: cotton, a combination of cotton and lycra, hemp, and other organic materials. Organic yoga clothing has gotten quite a following because one mantra of the yoga tradition is respect for all forms of life, and it helps capture that feeling of being close to nature.

Here are two of our top pics from leading eco-friendly activewear brand OHMME.

Yoga Bottoms

The DHARMA-GRAPHITE PANTS have no restrictions, improved grip, perfectly fitted, no sweat patches.

Like the classic Dharma, these pants are designed for comfort in your yoga practice. Our yoga pants for men do not bunch up and give you excellent support. Whether rolled up at a 3/4 length for a tighter feel or rolled down to contain your body heat during practice. Giving you grip during balances and twists, these pants offer you excellent mobility thanks to the sturdy stretchy material, strong seams, and the reinforced gusset panel around the crotch.

This strong polyester jersey is resistant, elastic, and feels great to the touch. And because of the fabric’s low level of absorption, sweat simply evaporates. Fast drying and wrinkle resistant, this sweat wicking garment will keep its shape. Its fast-drying properties allow these pants to evaporate sweat quickly and are really easy to care for. Looking for something full-length and lightweight but with even more space to move? These guys are your match!

Yoga Shorts

2-DOGS LINEN SUPPORT SHORTS are stretchy and silky, lined with a soft compression layer for total freedom of motion.

With an integrated and snug underlayer, the 2-Dogs Yoga Shorts for men provides complete flexibility. The material is stretchy and the cut is fitted with an extra panel from the crotch all the way down the inside of the leg, removing the strain from the seams and keeping your shorts in place for maximum body mobility. Keeping you comfortable and covered in all your poses and movements.

Their tight but stretchy fit allows for excellent blood flow.

2-Dogs are made for all body shapes and types of workout allowing you to focus on your practice and forget about what you are wearing.

Primarily designed for demanding hot yoga classes and animal flow practice, the 2-Dogs Yoga Shorts are made from a resistant, silk-like polyester jersey with a soft touch and durable elasticity. With sweat-wicking, fast-drying, and wrinkle-resistant properties these shorts are perfect for your active life.

Yoga Tops

MUST HAVE MEN'S YOGA CLOTHES MADE EASY, Men’s Yoga, Yog clothes, Shorts, Stretch, Eco Friendly, Yoga for men, kettle bell, kettlerciss

Basically, men can choose to wear either a t-shirt or a sleeveless top (sando or singlet) when practising yoga. Going topless, though allowed by some instructors and studios, is not really that advisable because it increases the possibility of soaking your mat in sweat. Different materials are used for making men’s yoga clothing tops, although cotton is still the most popular choice because of its sweat absorbing capacity and its light weight.

OHMME is an eco-friendly men’s activewear brand. The clothes have been made in the eco-friendliest way, and designed for movement. They feature all the sweat-wicking features required of men’s active wear by using GREEN DEFENCE in place of heavy metals, which can be toxic both to the environment and to the wearers skin.

Ditch the baggy boxers and embrace the jockstrap

What is the first thing that comes to your mind when you think about “jockstraps”? Do you relate it to the long ago men’s underwear traditional style that used to be an integral part of sport? Or, is it what you look up to for bringing the sizzling action behind the closed doors?

Whatever your idea of the jockstrap is, the fashion underwear style is definitely one of those which keeps coming back and straight to the hearts and the underneath of the male population. After being vanished from the face of the earth being the athletic pair, the style made a comeback as a fashionable pair and continued to please the manhood for the big games as well.

If you haven’t been a jockstrap kinda-guy, you should start considering it as an option. This article will lay out a few great reasons why the exotic underwear is making a comeback, and you should get on the bandwagon.

Exceptional Support

The very first reason for which one can consider adopting the respective style is for their undying support below the belt. The first pair was made in the late 1800s for bicycle delivery boys for the sole reason- to keep their manhood in its place! Movement is not what they desired while they moved around delivering their best. This required a pair that everything stayed where it should be without causing a lot of problem (chafing or bouncing) down there. So, when you are indulging in a field trip or running a marathon, you can look up to the support of a jockstrap.

Ditch the baggy boxers and embrace the jockstrap, jockstrap, men's underwear, High Street Gent, The best jockstraps, man wearing jockstrap

Undie-fying Comfort

When your todger is set in a place where it should be without letting a lot of movement, no fabric in the back or sides, how do you expect someone to feel? It is but obvious that comfort will be the key underneath. Do you remember having a pair of boxer brief underwear that rode up when you walked for a while? Probably because of the seams and wrong fabric composition. However, jockstraps are better anytime in situations like this.

Spaciousness

What can be worse than a hot summer day and a sticky back with the constantly irritating layer of fabric? Well, I even hate it when a strand of hair sticks on my face when I sweat, having that irritating feeling is what I try to avoid. Hence, jockstraps come handy here as well.

Inexpensive

It comes on very hard in a man’s pocket when he steps out spending for his basic clothing. With highly expensive pieces available at brick and mortar shops, it visibly comes down when you check for online options. At Manhood Undies you have prices that’ll blow your mind in happiness and contentment because of the inexpensive prices and luxurious designs.

Style

There are two overarching distinctive types of jocks, athletic and fashionable. Here’s the pros of both of them.

Athletic jockstraps

Ditch the baggy boxers and embrace the jockstrap, jockstrap, men's underwear, High Street Gent, The best jockstraps, man wearing jockstrap

Feature a sturdy elastic waistband that holds

If you are the athletic types and are in love jocks, you would know that one of the most important feature to keep everything in place below the belt is the elastic waistband. More often, the feature is broad and of has the name of the brand on it. It is available to keep the place of the pair intact without promoting any movement.

Elastic leg bands for the right grip

Keeping in sync with the waistband, the leg bands too are made with elastic fabric like spandex or elastane to keep the pouch held from the lower portion of the butt and goes all the way to the waistband.

The pouch is functionally supportive

Made out of cotton, nylon or some other sporty fabric, the pouch intends to support and enhance the visibility of the manhood. The enhancement and protection were the basic features when the style was introduced to men.

The very basic intention of these features was to keep you from chafing, rashes and getting yourself hurt while indulging in sporty games or workouts.

Fashionable jockstraps

Ditch the baggy boxers and embrace the jockstrap, jockstrap, men's underwear, High Street Gent, The best jockstraps, man wearing jockstrap

Waistband are sometimes flimsy

Made to be flaunted while indulging in romantic affairs or personal self indulgence, the waistband of the fashionable jocks are made with lacy fabrics or shimmery textured ones that look appeal on the body. Well, you might also find broad elastic ones as well.

Leg bands are elastic

Without doubt the leg bands are made to hold the pouch in the correct place. Hence, they are majority of the times made to hold the grip of the pair together.

Pouch is designed to appeal and support

You might or might not want support when it comes to fashionable underneath. You have options of choosing fabrics to open pouches, sexy cut-outs to absolutely no support in the front. Well, made for regular days, the comfort is definitely an essential part of the style.

We know a jock isn’t for everyone, so if you’re feeling adventurous, but not wanting to expose your arse, check out all our underwear tips here.

No excuse for single use!

Hydro Flask, Coffee, Tea, Save the planet, No Plastic

Every year, half a trillion disposable cups are manufactured annually around the world; that’s 70 cups for every person on the planet. Only one in 400 of these are recycled in the UK, the rest ending up in landfill or as litter on the street or in the ocean. But things are changing: Starbucks has started charging 5p for disposable coffee cups in 35 London stores as part of a three-month trial and many coffee shops are now offering discounts for those asking for their beverage in a reusable cup.  There’s no excuse for single use.

Since 2009, Hydro Flask’s mission to save the world from the lukewarm has been successful, especially after the UK release of the Hydro Flip Coffee Flask in 2016.  Now, this popular product is available in eleven different colourways and, from spring 2018, three sizes: 12 oz [large], 16 oz [grande] and 20 oz [venti].

We were introduced to Hydro Flask a few months ago and let us tell you, not only do you get a sense of well-being from helping reduce plastic wastage, the flasks are funky, modern and fantastic at keeping your beverage warm!

Hydro Flask’s line of Coffee Flasks have been designed with the coffee drinker in mind – with TempShield double-wall vacuum insulation to keep hot drinks piping hot for up to 12 hours [6 hours with 12 oz] cold drinks icy cold for up to 24 hours.  The Flip Lid offers one-handed access to your favourite beverage.

Hydro Flask, Coffee, Tea, Save the planet, No Plastic, High Street Gent

As with all Hydro Flask products, the bottles are BPA-free and 100% recyclable. Hydro Flasks are made from stainless steel increasing durability and diminishing the risk of tainted drinks meaning this afternoon’s green tea will never taste like this morning’s iced mocha.  The insulated bottles have a proprietary powder coating for a secure, sweat-free grip and come in plenty of bright colours.

Take a Hydro Flip Lid Coffee Flask next time you head to your local coffee shop – many cafes offer incentives when you bring your own cup [see below]. Not only are there financial and environmental benefits to using a reusable stainless steel cup, but health wins too: with plastic alternatives [such as BPA] being potentially harmful to your body.

5 Beard care tips for an awesome beard

5 beard care tips, beards, high street gent, best beard, beard man, beard comb, men's grooming

Before I grew my first beard, I had no idea what went into beard care. I figured that you just stopped shaving one day and let nature take its course.

I was totally wrong!

Now I know that taking care of a beard isn’t as easy as I once thought. It’s not difficult, either, but you do have to spend some time on it.

I’ve dealt with a scraggly beard, a beard that stopped growing at a certain point and a beard that wouldn’t fill out the way that I wanted it to. Over time, I’ve developed a routine that has optimized my beard growth and helped me feel confident sporting facial hair. I’m sharing my top five beard care tips with you today so that you can hold your hairy head high.

5 Beard Care Tips

The hair on our beards tends to be coarser, drier and ‘wirier’ than the hair on our heads. Facial hair needs a little TLC to stay in place and look presentable. If we don’t take care of our beards, the skin beneath them can also suffer.

Brush Your Beard

Combs and brushes will keep your beard free of tangles. Brushing keeps your beard tidy and clean because it removes dead skin cells, dirt, food particles and more stuff that your beard has accumulated throughout the day.

Brushing your beard also helps distribute the natural oils, preventing a greasy look and nourishing your hair. It can also prevent ingrown hairs.

When you brush your beard on a regular basis you’re basically training it to grow the way you want it to – so if you want your beard to grow in a certain direction just brush it in that direction.

Brushes with natural bristles are gentle on the skin but tough enough to get through my beard hair. I don’t recommend using plastic drugstore combs, these will do more harm than good. Combs that are designed for beard care have smoother teeth and won’t snag your facial hair.

You don’t have to overdo the brushing. Working a comb through your beard too often can damage the hair and create split ends.

To brush your beard, start at the bottom, working your way up toward the chin and cheeks. This will separate the hair and will make your beard look more voluminous. After the initial combing and separating, you can style your beard by combing it in the direction in which you want it to fall. Comb your mustache to the sides so that it doesn’t get in your mouth.

Tip: Use a beard brush to distribute beard oil after applying it to your beard.

Use Beard Oil

Whenever you start to grow a beard, it’s almost guaranteed you’ll go through the dreaded itching phase. Using beard oil helps prevent or reduce irritation, it moisturizes, nourishes and conditions both your skin and facial hair. It has many benefits.

A healthy beard grows best from healthy skin. Moisturizing and nourishing your skin with natural oil allows your skin and facial hair to stay healthy.

The oils can nourish the hair deep within the follicle. This is a bonus for those of us who want our beards to grow quickly and to their full potential.

When it comes down to it, beard oil makes your facial hair look better. A beard looks cleaner when it’s glossy and shiny. It’s less frizzy when it’s well moisturized. It also smells better when you use beard oil.

Plus, oil makes your beard softer. There’s nothing worse than wearing what feels like steel wool on your face. To top things off, the ladies love a soft beard!

Note: If you want to style your beard, consider getting a beard balm, some balms will condition and moisturize your beard, you will also be able to style it (depends on the balm).

Wash Your Beard

You don’t need to care for your beard in the same way that you take care of your hair. Of course, you want your beard to smell good and stay clean, but you don’t need wash it every day. Washing it too frequently can strip it of its natural oils, and dry your skin.

Everyone is different, however. Some people can use a daily washing, but I recommend washing it 1-2 times a week

Long beards require more maintenance, but they don’t need to be washed every day. The natural oils help moisturize and protect them.

Make sure you pick a product that is designed for beards, which means it’s natural and doesn’t contain chemicals. It doesn’t matter if you’re using beard shampoo or beard soap it’s all about what you like.

Trim & Style Your Beard

If you’re just starting out, you need some patience. I suggest to leave your beard alone and just let it grow for at least 8 weeks.

After 8 weeks, if you feel like your beard needs a trim then you can trim it a bit to make it look presentable. Your beard doesn’t grow uniformly and at the same rate, so by trimming it you can make it look good while keeping growing it out.

Make sure you have beard scissors, they allow to cut just a millimeter at a time and be precise. You can use the scissors to trim your mustache as well.

Some people prefer to use beard trimmer to keep their beards short. Make sure you start with a higher guard and not lower guard, you can always trim more if you think it’s too long.

You should also trim your cheeks and necklines. These lines define your face so you should be careful when doing it. You can use electric clippers or a razor to style them.  There’s no right way for the cheek lines, it depends on how your beard is and what’s the style you’re looking for. As for the neck line try to imagine a ‘U’ shape from your ears down and above your Adam’s apple, you should cut everything below it.

Men’s Journal provides these tips:

  • Trim the top, the tips of the whiskers, rather than cutting into the beard.
  • Work from the sideburns down.
  • If a beard is short, use clippers; if it’s long, use scissors and a comb.
  • Comb a small amount of moustache wax through a beard to shape, style, and hold.

Does your watch match your style?

Men's Watch, High Street Gent, Watch Tips, Watch, Top Tip, Men's Lifestyle

For watch collectors, one more is never enough. It doesn’t matter if you own five watches or fifty watches, there is always another one around the bend that will catch your fancy and earn a spot in the rotation. However, for most men, even if they own some timepieces, they favour one or maybe two for everyday use.

Since we’re talking the ‘average man’, it also has to be noted that the typical gentleman doesn’t collect watches. Certainly, he wears one. But his collection – so to speak – probably consists of just one or two timepieces. Possibly a third at the most.

So for men who have the desire to own and wear just a single watch, or for collectors who have numerous and yet still favor an EDC watch, how does one begin to decide what to wear?

The answer is easier than you may think – particularly if you’ve heard of Thomas & George.

Forget all the watch ads you’ve seen in issues of Robb Report, The Rake or Forbes. Stop thinking about the watch you saw in that movie or on that celebrity. Pay no heed to popularity. James Bond might wear a Rolex Submariner and so might your boss, but unless you work as a diving instructor or plan to use its features, you’re wasting money on a timepiece that isn’t worth your attention. Should it become a part of your collection? Of course. Should it be an everyday watch? Not a chance.

An everyday watch should be reflective of your lifestyle, your career, and your personal style. If you wear suits or blazers all day, picking a watch that passes the cuff test and is simplistically elegant should be the priority. If you happen to wear a uniform and are very active in your free time, you may want something more rugged and sporty.

Ideally, we recommend that most men have at least two watches. They don’t have to be expensive, but they should be distinct styles. One should be a dress watch and the other, a casual sports watch. For most men, regardless of what they do or where they are, having both of these watches will fill their horological needs every day of the year. For that reason, we’ve broken this article up into two main categories where we’ll discuss both styles at various price points.

The Everyday Dress Watch

Men's Watch, High Street Gent, Watch Tips, Watch, Top Tip, Men's Lifestyle

Pair it elegantly with a suit at the office, a tuxedo at the symphony, a blazer at the office party or a pair of chinos and a polo shirt on the weekend. The everyday dress watch is the most versatile timepiece in your wardrobe provided it’s not hitting the water or other extreme conditions.

Ideally, you want to try and select one that is made from the metal you most often wear. If you typically wear a ring, a belt or carry a money clip made of gold, consider gold. If your choice of metal is steel, pick one with steel. Of course, this can greatly impact the price, but it doesn’t have to be the deciding factor. What’s more important than the watch, is the band. Ideally, you’re going to want a leather strap over something that’s made of metal, rubber or nylon. Save those straps for the casual watch. Now you need to figure out whether to go with a black or a brown leather strap. For most of us, our wardrobe changes between black and brown shoes and belts. Ideally, your watch will change with it. If possible, select a timepiece that you can easily switch the strap on. Then you just need a second strap. However, if you can only go with one, we recommend black.

The face, or dial, of the watch, should be simple. Index markers or Roman numerals are fine, but there isn’t usually a need to have multiple complications. The simpler the dial is, the more you can wear it with. A white or cream dial is preferable over black or another colour as it goes with anything and black dialled watches are typically reserved for evening wear.

The Kingman 43 from T&G is perfect. Here are few of our recommended watches from the fantastic Thomas & George.

The Chesterfield is the Thomas and George version of the world famous classic watch. With this specific design it’s extremely affordable for you without reducing the quality of the watch.

Men’s hair and beard trends for 2018

Now we’ve taken our first steps into 2018, AND we’ve got January and the skintest month of the year out the way, we can’t help but wonder what it might bring: A smooth and effortless Brexit withdrawal? Don’t hold your breath. How about jetpacks? We hope so. Perhaps a full blown Twitter war will break out? With Trump around, who knows!

Here at The Bluebeards Revenge, the one thing we can accurately predict is the amazing hair and beard trends that the next 12 months will bring. Below, we’ve asked some of Britain’s most influential barbers to embrace their clairvoyant sides and provide the all-important hair and beard insights for 2018.

Is long hair coming back into fashion?

“Recently I’ve had quite a few clients asking to keep their length on both the top and the sides,” says Adam Rossington-Smith of Scissor and Comb UK. “This opens up 2018 to some very versatile styles, with a blend of clean tapered edges and soft, textured waves on top.”

What does this mean for the super popular fade styles of 2017?

Adam says: “I highly doubt that we will see a massive reduction of fades next year. Part of the reason they became so popular was because they are clean and super easy to maintain, and lots of men still don’t like the thought of having to prune too much.”

Meanwhile, Tom Chapman, award-winning barber and founder of the Lions Barber Collective charity, believes that, “fades will remain fashionable, but more men will start to favour tapers; looking for a finish that is less sharp. More men will start to ask for their edges to be left a little more natural too.”

What hairstyling products will be in popular demand for 2018?

Adam says: “Medium and long hairstyles will give men more opportunities to experiment with products. Personally, sea salt sprays are my absolute favourite right now. They add texture and a light hold to fine hair, and volume to thicker hair. They help to create a natural look as well, which is very fashionable right now and will continue to dominate throughout 2018.

““Volumizing powders have become a big hit for men seeking a natural look too. They’re easy to use and pretty cost effective – a 10 gram container should easily bulk up flat styles for a few months.”

Tom says: “With the right education, I think a lot of men could return to hair gels this year. As a product, modern hair gels are massively undervalued for their styling capabilities: softer gels can be used as pre-styling products to give styles structure all day and barbers often use them while sectioning medium and long hair.”

Will barbers struggle with any of the new trends?

Adam, who graduated from Toni & Guy before specialising in barbering, says: “Barbers who have joined the industry in the last few years will probably find themselves facing styles that they have never really had to deal with.

“Shorter styles have dominated the barbering scene for so long now that new barbers have likely had little experience with anything longer than a clipper cut on the sides.

“Of course, with longer haircuts comes the chance to learn endless new techniques for adding texture and creating movement. The new fashions will help barbers to develop their scissor skills and will provide practice in handling and sectioning longer hair. They will also show the importance of proper blow drying techniques and require a better understanding of less conventional styling products.”

2018 beard trends

With the trends for the hair on our heads covered, it’s time to concentrate on the stubble and scruff that sprouts from our chins.

Will beards still be popular in 2018?

The masculinity, maturity and respect that beards give to men means they will never completely fall out of fashion, no matter how far into the future we go. Simon ‘Bones’ Bethel, from Sandyman Chop Shop in Exeter, believes we will still continue to see a steady flow of beards throughout 2018. He said: “While there are fewer men sporting big bushy beards these days, we still do a lot of short beard trims in the Chop Shop. I don’t expect this to change for 2018.”

Beard styles for 2018

Over the past few years, rough-cut, lumberjack styles have dominated the look books, but the next 12 months will see changes according to Bones. “Men are starting to wear their beards shorter and with more shape,” he said. “These styles mean that creating strong cheek lines with razors, and tapering these into the sideburns and hair line will be the way forward.”

As beards get shorter, designer stubbles are likely to gain a little more traction too. Ex-serviceman and current Master Barber Liam Hamilton, from Hamilton’s Barbershop in Cornwall, says these looks are “ideal for men who want to add a little masculinity to their look.” They also work particularly well for men who are attempting to achieve a more “rugged” style, without the same timely maintenance of a full beard.

Beard products for 2018

“The men’s grooming market is receiving huge investments at the moment, and products that were previously unknown to men are now becoming essentials,” said Managing Director of The Bluebeards Revenge, David Hildrew. “Now, more than ever, men are taking an invested interest in their appearance and this is causing beard oils, brushes and waxes to boom in popularity.”

Liam, a bearded barber himself, says: “The best beards have a shine and healthiness to them that can only be created with high-quality beard oils. A few drops of oil, combed through from the roots to the tips, will enhance any man’s beard and leave it smelling irresistible.”

Moustache styles for 2018

2018 might just be the year for full and fuzzy moustaches. Finally, they’re seen less like Charlie Bronson’s and more like Tom Selleck’s.

“The humble moustache can help to add balance to the right man’s face, soften a more dominant jawline, and compliment a man’s eyebrows,” says Liam.

However, lots of men still struggle to confidently wear this facial accessory. “If you’re lacking the confidence to wear a moustache in 2018, why not wait until Movember comes around? Then you can hide in the crowd,” suggests Liam. “Or, if you’re feeling brave, try growing your stubble out around it. This helps to frame your moustache and won’t leave your face feeling so isolated and bare.”

Watch

watchcollection_451435

Some of these gifts are situational. For example, if you know that your friend, family member or a significant other has a job interview after the holidays, you may look for the way to help them out. Buying a full suit may be too expensive even for a Christmas gift. The right watch is much more than just a timepiece; it expresses who you are. Whether you are in a bar, at work, a formal event or even at the beach, your watch should be suitable for all occasions and it was for this reason that James Derby was born.

Manufactured with the highest quality Japanese movement in a stainless steel case, with sapphire crystal quality glass and genuine leather straps, each timepiece produced represents what the brand stands for with performance, charm, excitement, heritage and prestige coming together to create unique designs.

The high level of quality and excellence required from a modern day watch is paramount, which is why they have kept their collections small so they can ensure perfection across every single watch that they produce.

Chelsea Boots

chelsea_boot

The Chelsea boot is a great one to wear when the temperature drops, but when you still need something to wear that looks good in the office. These boots are laceless, so they are much better at keeping your feet and ankles warm, and you can find many great looking Chelsea boots that integrate modern soles, so they’re also extremely comfortable as well. Chelsea boots pair well with business casual clothing like jeans and cords.

There are many Chelsea Boots, but our company of 2017-18 has got to be Samuel Windsor.

Underwear

AVAJ

We hate buying it for ourselves, but all we want is manly or even funny underwear. It all depends on the particular person as well as if the gifted one (pun intended) is going to be on their own when they unwrap it. The underwear that caught our eye is AVA-J.

Gone are the days when men consider pants to be the ‘must not have’ Christmas present. That’s according to ava-j, a British internet retailer of luxury men’s underwear and Skincare products, manufactured in the UK.

Joe Goddard, Design and Operations Director at the Leeds based business says most men are now more than happy to receive such presents on Christmas morning, providing that the quality and style is top notch.

‘Men are more conscious about their appearance than ever before and that includes their pants,’ says Joe. ‘Traditionally it was only ever women who received nicely presented, stylish underwear, but we have now taken those core values of product, packaging and presentation into the male market and the reaction has been incredible, particularly from women buying for their husbands and partners.’

Sports Flask

hydro flask

For the adventurers who plan to be halfway up a climbing wall, mid warrior pose in the gym or doing the downward dog in 2018, the Standard Mouth Sports Cap from drinking bottle specialist Hydro Flask allows you to simply sip, refresh and go.

The American, award-winning company, which specialises in insulated drinking bottles, has added this versatile cap to its product range. It fits onto any of Hydro Flask’s Standard Mouth drinking bottles and is interchangeable. So it doesn’t matter whether you already own the 18, 21 or 24 ounce drinking bottle. One size fits all.

The Sports Cap is insulated, just like the drinking bottle, so any liquid kept inside will stay icy fresh for up to 24 hours offering unexpected refreshment. In fact, it’s the first-ever insulated sports cap specifically designed to keep water cold, sip after sip.

Its unique handle design means it can be used one-handed.

Socks

london sock exchange

Traditionally the most common Christmas gifts. Accidentally, they are also a perfect low-cost option for those who approach the holiday season on a tight budget. The London Sock Exchange offers socks, those with cutting edge patterns, tartan or polka dot motifs as classic as these presents get. However, if the person you’re gifting is a renowned jokester, you can even look for a prank-gift in a form of a particularly silly pair of socks. Needless to say, wearing these at any family gathering would be a great success.

Lets wrap this up…

As you can see, there is a great choice of great gifts for you to go through. The final choice comes down to your personal preference and what you believe your friend/partner would like. Choosing a great gift is not that hard, but in some situations great simply isn’t great.

Tomorrow we’ll be posting the perfect gift for her, if you’re struggling last minute. Keep an eye out!
