Should You Shave Your Beard for an Interview?

Should You Shave Your Beard for an Interview, smartly dressed man with beard reading a newspaper, bearded man, bearded in in sunglasses, man reading the newspaper, beards for business

This is a tricky one.

On the one hand, you love your beard.

Then on the other, you probably could really do with that new job.

So the question is…

Do you take the hit on your man pride by shaving off your beard, effectively playing it safe – or do you go all guns all out – bearded, confident and dressed on point?

Ultimately, we think there are three major factors at play that you have to think about:

i) What does your interviewer think of your beard (and beards in general)?

Beards have become far more socially acceptable in recent times, that’s a given since the recent beard booms and what seems to be the undying trend.

Unfortunately, there is still a slight, albeit unfair stigma still attached to them. The typical one of course being – that a guy who sports a beard is lazy, unprofessional given that he can’t even be

bothered to shave. Harsh and largely untrue given that a good beard takes a lot more upkeep than just shaving every few days.

Of course, you won’t really know if your interviewer likes beards or not, but if you happen to know who you are going to be interviewed by, this could give you a little heads up.

It might be worth hopping on to your laptop or smartphone and do some classic ‘social media stalking’, checking out LinkedIn, Facebook – you know the drill and try and figure out if he is sporting one. If he is, it’s a good sign, he’s on your side. No beard? It could go either way.

The less risky route of course is to go shaven, if this is something that concerns you we will explain a little later why you should probably reach for the razor.

ii) Does it fit in with the ‘business culture’?

In some industries facial hair is just far more widely accepted.

Finance and law, it is almost an unspoken rule that wearing facial fur is pretty much forbidden. As with most things, there are exceptions to the rule but you best bet that those guys who sport their beards in such industries are incredibly well-kempt (again, this is something we will get into a little later).

Then there are industries that pretty much require shaven faces for health and safety reasons due to large industrial machinery or where they are a little frowned upon such as in food preparation areas (where they require you to wear beard nets and trust us on this – it just ain’t a good look).

Then there are much more beard friendly industries such as gaming design and development, photography and so on. We tend to find that with most creative jobs, they almost go hand in hand.

Ultimately, what we are trying to do is to encourage you to get your research on. Head to LinkedIn and check out the company you are applying to and other competing companies, and ask yourself does it look like many of their employees are bearded?

If so, take it is a thumbs up.

If not – it’s probably something you ought to think about.

iii) What do you think of your beard?

Of course, we know you love your beard.

What we really mean here, is do you think ultimately your beard will be working against you or not?

Whether it ‘actually’ does or not in reality, what you don’t want to happen is your subconscious screwing up your interview because you are stressing that the beard is not working in your favour.

If you are cool with it and don’t think there are any issues to be had, then that’s awesome. Keep that glorious man mane of yours!

However, if you think there potentially ‘might be’ an issue whether in fact there is or isn’t,, it could end up negatively impacting on your interview performance. In which case, we recommend you play it safe and get it shaved off. At least that way, your focus is 100% on the interview on hand.

That said, if that is the case though, we would raise the following question to ask yourself:

Can you go without your beard for the sake of your job?

I’m afraid, only you can decide that one.

iv) If you’re keeping the beard for the interview

First off, that’s awesome! We know it takes a bit of guts and we tip our hats off to you for that.

Now if you do decide to keep your beard and go ahead with the interview, you need it looking its best.

Even if your interviewer likes beards and is a beard friendly job – you still can’t turn up with it being scraggly with stray hairs sticking out all over the place. Tidy it up, apply some good beard goodies and have it looking its absolute best.

Here’s a quick step by step breakdown to have your beard looking awesome:

  1. Comb out your beard.

It’s a given, but the quickest way of dealing with tricky beard knots and generally making your beard looking neater and fuller is using a proper beard comb to help bring some order and get it all into place.

  1. Splash on some beard oil or a beard balm.

Make use of a high quality beard oil by thoroughly massaging it into your beard and skin to help moisturise and conditioning as well as to give you a great smelling odor. If you are still struggling with flyaway beard hairs, reach out for a styling balm that will help to give you some hold and control over your beard.

  1. Brush the beard and shape it up.

The final touch is just to help distribute the oils that you have applied and then helped to get your man scruff in order.

If your beard is looking particularly out of place we recommend heading to your local (and trusted) beard barber, they will help shape it up – take care of any neckbeard for you and ultimately give you a style that suits both your beard and your face. All you have to do now, is carry out the few steps we’ve just mentioned.

Like we say, it’s your call.

Play it safe and get a shave or stick it to the man and face that interview with a great luscious face forest.

Either way let us know how you got on.

5 Beard care tips for an awesome beard

5 beard care tips, beards, high street gent, best beard, beard man, beard comb, men's grooming

Before I grew my first beard, I had no idea what went into beard care. I figured that you just stopped shaving one day and let nature take its course.

I was totally wrong!

Now I know that taking care of a beard isn’t as easy as I once thought. It’s not difficult, either, but you do have to spend some time on it.

I’ve dealt with a scraggly beard, a beard that stopped growing at a certain point and a beard that wouldn’t fill out the way that I wanted it to. Over time, I’ve developed a routine that has optimized my beard growth and helped me feel confident sporting facial hair. I’m sharing my top five beard care tips with you today so that you can hold your hairy head high.

5 Beard Care Tips

The hair on our beards tends to be coarser, drier and ‘wirier’ than the hair on our heads. Facial hair needs a little TLC to stay in place and look presentable. If we don’t take care of our beards, the skin beneath them can also suffer.

Brush Your Beard

Combs and brushes will keep your beard free of tangles. Brushing keeps your beard tidy and clean because it removes dead skin cells, dirt, food particles and more stuff that your beard has accumulated throughout the day.

Brushing your beard also helps distribute the natural oils, preventing a greasy look and nourishing your hair. It can also prevent ingrown hairs.

When you brush your beard on a regular basis you’re basically training it to grow the way you want it to – so if you want your beard to grow in a certain direction just brush it in that direction.

Brushes with natural bristles are gentle on the skin but tough enough to get through my beard hair. I don’t recommend using plastic drugstore combs, these will do more harm than good. Combs that are designed for beard care have smoother teeth and won’t snag your facial hair.

You don’t have to overdo the brushing. Working a comb through your beard too often can damage the hair and create split ends.

To brush your beard, start at the bottom, working your way up toward the chin and cheeks. This will separate the hair and will make your beard look more voluminous. After the initial combing and separating, you can style your beard by combing it in the direction in which you want it to fall. Comb your mustache to the sides so that it doesn’t get in your mouth.

Tip: Use a beard brush to distribute beard oil after applying it to your beard.

Use Beard Oil

Whenever you start to grow a beard, it’s almost guaranteed you’ll go through the dreaded itching phase. Using beard oil helps prevent or reduce irritation, it moisturizes, nourishes and conditions both your skin and facial hair. It has many benefits.

A healthy beard grows best from healthy skin. Moisturizing and nourishing your skin with natural oil allows your skin and facial hair to stay healthy.

The oils can nourish the hair deep within the follicle. This is a bonus for those of us who want our beards to grow quickly and to their full potential.

When it comes down to it, beard oil makes your facial hair look better. A beard looks cleaner when it’s glossy and shiny. It’s less frizzy when it’s well moisturized. It also smells better when you use beard oil.

Plus, oil makes your beard softer. There’s nothing worse than wearing what feels like steel wool on your face. To top things off, the ladies love a soft beard!

Note: If you want to style your beard, consider getting a beard balm, some balms will condition and moisturize your beard, you will also be able to style it (depends on the balm).

Wash Your Beard

You don’t need to care for your beard in the same way that you take care of your hair. Of course, you want your beard to smell good and stay clean, but you don’t need wash it every day. Washing it too frequently can strip it of its natural oils, and dry your skin.

Everyone is different, however. Some people can use a daily washing, but I recommend washing it 1-2 times a week

Long beards require more maintenance, but they don’t need to be washed every day. The natural oils help moisturize and protect them.

Make sure you pick a product that is designed for beards, which means it’s natural and doesn’t contain chemicals. It doesn’t matter if you’re using beard shampoo or beard soap it’s all about what you like.

Trim & Style Your Beard

If you’re just starting out, you need some patience. I suggest to leave your beard alone and just let it grow for at least 8 weeks.

After 8 weeks, if you feel like your beard needs a trim then you can trim it a bit to make it look presentable. Your beard doesn’t grow uniformly and at the same rate, so by trimming it you can make it look good while keeping growing it out.

Make sure you have beard scissors, they allow to cut just a millimeter at a time and be precise. You can use the scissors to trim your mustache as well.

Some people prefer to use beard trimmer to keep their beards short. Make sure you start with a higher guard and not lower guard, you can always trim more if you think it’s too long.

You should also trim your cheeks and necklines. These lines define your face so you should be careful when doing it. You can use electric clippers or a razor to style them.  There’s no right way for the cheek lines, it depends on how your beard is and what’s the style you’re looking for. As for the neck line try to imagine a ‘U’ shape from your ears down and above your Adam’s apple, you should cut everything below it.

Men’s Journal provides these tips:

  • Trim the top, the tips of the whiskers, rather than cutting into the beard.
  • Work from the sideburns down.
  • If a beard is short, use clippers; if it’s long, use scissors and a comb.
  • Comb a small amount of moustache wax through a beard to shape, style, and hold.

How to maximize beard growth

Man wearing a white tshirt with dark hair and a big beard

This goes down as the most asked beard question going (especially online): “How can I make my beard grow fuller, thicker and faster?”

Well, there’s some good news and bad news. The good news? You can influence the growth of your beard. The bad news? Probably not to the state you would like.

See, the bulk of your beard potential comes down to your age (certainly as you pass through your teenage years), your genetics (might be worth checking out ancestor’s pictures to see how you might fair up) as well as your testosterone levels (which also has an influence on you losing the hair sitting on your head).

So what are some of the things you can to help with growing a beard:

Nutrition

High Street gent - Healthy Food

Like you’ve heard time and time before.

Eating right and getting the nutrition your body (and consequently your beard) needs to stay healthy is a must for making sure your beard grows to its full potential. Follow a diet that’s based on making sure your beard gets exactly what it needs.

Many beardsman take it a step further and take beard supplements to make sure they get everything they need – if that’s a route you want to go down, make sure to fully commit to some research surrounding the product beforehand. Generally, the best route is to always get what you need from what you’re eating.

Exercise

High Street Gent - Maximize your beard

Again, not overly surprising.

From lifting weights to losing weight, both can impact on your testosterone levels that as we said above can influence the quality of your beard growth.

Exercising in general will help to improve the circulation of blood of that is carrying the
supplied nutrition (you just sorted out above) more efficiently to your hair follicles. Plus,
exercise is shown to reduce stress which prohibits and causes your hormone levels to suffer – in turn reducing your maximum beard growth potential.

It might be even be worth getting into a routine of meditating daily to help deal with stress. Be you didn’t you think meditation would be on the cards for improving beard growth, did you?

Sleep

High Street Gent - Maximize your beard growth

Make sure you are getting enough Z’s.

A study conducted back in 1987 looked at the relation between sleep and beard growth. We don’t have to go into the details, however cutting back on your much needed sleep – harms the rate of your potential beard growth.
Aiming for around 7-8 hours a night should see you right.

Now other than radical treatments such as hormone therapy and facial hair transplants, all this will only get your beard so far (basically living a healthy lifestyle).

That said, it’s only half the equation. Since, that’s what can be internally, there are things you can do from an external standpoint too, that can help the beard appear fuller.

Mainly in the of goods specially formulated to help out your beard as well as an alternative styling products too.

Beard Oil

Now, if there’s any one beard product you want to be using, it’s beard oil. It’s a multi purpose styling agent that takes cares of helping to moisturise your beard, provide external nutrition and keeps the foundation of your beard (i.e your skin) fresh too.

Apply daily and you will be giving your beard the perfect habitat for a healthier (and in turn likely to be thicker beard). When you are using it though, apply it in a massaging motion – this can help to stimulate additional hair growth.

Brush

Particularly a boar bristle brush, as soon as your beard is long enough (around an inch or so) you will want to start regularly (about once a day) to brush through your beard.

This helps in quite a few ways: first it helps to separate the hairs so they don’t clump together (in turn making your beard look fuller), spreads sebum (the natural oil that resides on your face) to ensure your beard remains hydrated and well maintained (to avoid breakages and split ends from occurring).

Remember that, alternative styling product, it’s a little unorthodox but it’s worth a go. Try some hair clay on your beard.

Why hair clay?

Unlike the other hair styling products, this one tends contains a rather special ingredient.
Namely, bentonite clay. Not only does it help keep your hairs healthy – what it is particularly great at doing, is helping to add body to hair strands and makes your hair appear thicker.

Use it as a finisher and it will help to give you texture, create a matte effect and help to shape up your beard into place too. Tame down the flyways and bring it back into the bulk of your beard.

4 tips to help you care for your beard

Man in the bathroom caring for his beard with a razor and shaving foam

For men, who already have full beards, another thing that you should remember is to groom it. You have to keep your beard well-maintained if you want to look good with one. If you do not groom your beard, you will end up looking dirty and unkempt. So, if you already have a beard on your face, then you should follow these tips to ensure that it is groomed properly.

1. You can use a comb with scissors to trim your beard hair. Using the comb, you can run its teeth through your beard’s hair. This will detangle your beard, and also let you see which strands need cutting. You can use the comb to separate those long strands, to be able to cut it easier using a pair of scissors.

2. A beard trimmer is an absolute necessity if you plan to groom your beard by yourself. You should buy a good pair of beard trimmers to keep your beard nice and well-maintained. Using a beard trimmer is much easier than using a pair of scissors to cut your beard hair.

3. Wash your beard regularly. Oil and other body secretions can build up in your beard’s hair, and it is important to get rid of these. You should use specialized beard shampoo if you want to properly wash your beard. Using a beard growth cream is also great for your beard and work superb for revitalizing the connections and nutrients. If you do not regularly wash your beard using special shampoo, then your beard will look terrible and smell atrocious.

4. Maintain a healthy lifestyle if you want a good beard. This means eating right and getting enough sleep. Your body’s health can affect how your beard looks.

It is extremely important that you follow these beard care tips. If you do not maintain your beard, it will have the opposite effect. Instead of making you look mature and attractive, an unkempt beard will put many people off.

Winter Grüuming Tips for Men

gruum-header

Winter is well and truly upon us and whilst the majority will have swapped short sleeve tees for jumpers, and denim jackets for parkas, just how many of us have actually thought about the changes we should be making to our grooming routines? The good news is that just a few small changes can make all the difference.

Below are the top tips you can put into place straight away to protect yourself from the elements this winter – tried and tested with the subscription service from Grüum.

Taking care of your skin is the single most important thing you can do for your appearance. Sure, a sense of style helps, but the best clothing in the world can’t cover up unsightly bumps and blemishes. Even if you think you’re a skin care expert — and chances are you’re not — this refresher course from the basic to the advanced will remind you of what you should be including in your skin care regime.

As a man, your skin is unique and using female or unisex products just won’t cut it. The reason for the differences is due to testosterone. The biggest differences are: your skin is 25% thicker than a woman’s, primarily due to having higher collagen density than a woman, providing a stronger structural base for the skin. This means less creasing and folding of the skin, also known as wrinkles.

This is also a big reason why men’s faces hold up better over time, if taken care of.

Exfoliating Face Wash

gruum-kori_tube

Twenty years ago, it was a miracle if men’s grooming including anything more than washing the face with a bar of soap. Unfortunately, using a simple soap is about as bad as doing nothing at all: It can leave your skin taut and thirsty. Instead, use a cleanser that strikes a delicate balance between tough and tender. Look no further that Grüum…for a naturally fresh fragrance gel face wash that’s suitable for all skin types that is strong enough to cut through those overactive male sebaceous glands yet gentle enough to be used every day. This gel smells good, not too potent for first thing in the morning, but leaves your face feeling fresh.

For example: Grüum‘s gentle everyday cleanser gives a real deep clean, without stripping the skin. Designed to work with all skin types, you can count on kóri to help you look your best. A combination of Witch hazel, Aloe Vera, Orange and Eucalyptus work in harmony to combat dryness, soothe the skin, whilst keeping oil at bay. Sounds like a win to us.

No artificial colours or synthetic fragrances. EDTA free.

Face Tonic

gruum-gosta_packshot

A face tonic is just the opening act for facial cleansing. Men’s skin is naturally thicker than women’s, with larger pores that roll out the red carpet for nasty debris. No one likes to look at bumps and blackheads, and scrubbing will help smooth your complexion for a clearer, cleaner appearance it can often be left looking shiny! No one wants shiny. It also softens the skin as a first step toward a less gruesome shaving experience. With Grüum the combination in the little bottle means you don’t have to scrub away, scratching your skin, it softly cleanses with a cracking scent too.

After using for a few weeks, it feels natural and clean, it also washes away simply leaving you feeling fresh.

For Example: It takes just a second to add gösta to your skincare routine, and the benefits clearly outweigh the effort. Do you ever find your face looking shiny throughout the day? Does your skin feel irritated after shaving? Or perhaps you’re having some trouble with blackheads and breakouts? These common (and very annoying) problems can easily be improved with the facial tonic.

Grüum believe in the goodness of nature, so they’ve loaded their facial toner with honest, natural ingredients. Soothing Chamomile, Rosemary Oil, and Aloe Vera give the skin some real TLC, whilst Witch Hazel works to kill bacteria and refresh your complexion.

No artificial colours or synthetic fragrances. EDTA free.

Moisturiser

gruum-kare_tube

Even the mildest facial cleansers can leave your skin feeling just plain parched. And don’t think you can cheat the system by using one fortified with a laundry list of special moisturising agents. The truth is that every guy, even those with oily skin, needs to replenish the moisture content of their skin. Something as routine as showering or washing your face with hot water can open pores and allow valuable water to escape. A moisturiser like Grüum is light and breathy, minutes after putting it on it felt as though nothing was there, it wasn’t oily, thick or gloopy, it was a pleasure to use.

This whole process was pretty simple in and out the shower too, so it won’t add time to your routine, even though they’re few products.

When it comes to choosing the right moisturiser, make sure that you avoid certain chemicals, sulphates and parabens as they are amongst the main causes of skin problems. Also, to get the best results our of your moisturising sessions, it’s important to have a simple grooming routine consisting of cleansing, toning and finally hydration with a moisturiser. These simple steps are crucial during winter considering that your skin is more likely to be exposed to the elements.

For Example: kåre daily moisturiser is the essential finishing touch to your skincare routine. Cleansing your face with a gentle face wash (kori does the job very well) creates the ideal base to allow moisturiser to penetrate the skin and lock in that goodness.

Packed with the natural goodness of Chamomile, Rosemary Oil, and Green Tea extract, kåre is kind to sensitive skin and great at soothing post-shave irritation.

No artificial colours or synthetic fragrances. EDTA free.

Look after the whiskers

Gruum leif_bottle-1.png

If you’re still backing the beard trend then it’s important to consider how to look after the whiskers this winter. Keep things simple by making it a two-step process.

1) Use a beard shampoo when you shower, this will clean the beard hair thoroughly and keep it healthy.

2) Use a beard oil after washing.

Beard oils help to reduce beard dandruff (it’s a thing) and also moisturise the beard hairs and skin below.

In addition

gruum-danne_tube

Shaving is notorious for upsetting your skin, particularly if it’s sensitive. The natural formulation of danne shave gel works to keep your skin happy. Soothing Aloe Vera helps to combat post-shave irritation, whilst Witch Hazel keeps bacteria at bay.

However, one that smells amazing is often a clear winner in our eyes! Like this…

For Example: danne is the perfect sidekick for any style of shave, it’s the robin to your razor. Use as a clear gel for precision and visibility, or lather up to create a gentle foam. Forget harsh artificial fragrances, danne is au natural, with Orange and Eucalyptus for a fresh subtle scent.

Winter means skin brutality, especially for your face. And it’s winter now, so it’s worth knowing how to take care of that moneymaker of yours and of course your face fuzz. And no, there’s absolutely nothing unmanly about making sure you have cracking skin. But, that doesn’t mean you should adopt your girlfriend’s daily 10-step anti-aging, herbal-infused, citrus-scented, green-masked facial cleaning ritual.

It’s really much simpler than that.

After all, imagine that you are about to approach a pretty girl at a bar / lounge / club. You’re well dressed, confident and ready to charm. But one small problem, you just stepped inside and the tolls of the cold, windy day have cracked your lips, made your cheeks red and irritable, and your nose blotchy and dry. Not a good look, no matter how smooth you are. So don’t handicap that charming personality of yours by not taking care of your style and your skin. From the dimple in your tie to the pimple on your face, remember that your entire appearance is sending a message.

When it comes to your beard care regime, you need to be sure not only are the products good for your beard, but they’re great for your skin.

I’ve blogged about my firm favourite when it comes to grooming ManCave before, it’s great. Versatile. Worthwhile. Proven. And, a little goes a long way.

We’ve been using the new and hot ‘black spice’ range from manCave for around 2 weeks now- they definitely deliver on its promise of providing quality, masculine bathroom products for men at a price that few can argue with. We strongly recommend checking out the full range on their website to find all the ingredients and product details so you can buy with peace-of-mind. You can also check their reviews on Boots and see hundreds of other UK customer lauding their quality and fragrance. Thanks to ManCave we have changed from cavemen to gentlemen in one trip to the bathroom…

The Bearded Truth – Grizzly Adam Beard Care

GA11

Spring brings warmer temperatures, causing increased sebum production, meaning its more important than ever to keep your facial hair clean and deodorized. With this in mind, we’ve test run a quaint little bard care company called Grizzly Adam Beard Care that will be right up all of you beardy-bastards’ street. We’ve tests 3 of the products so you can avoid synthetic shampoos that strip your beard of natural oils, and opting instead for an all natural soap or a cleansing oil. These alternatives to store bought shampoos will keep your beard clean and deodorized without stripping it of necessary nutrients.

For the past three weeks Matt has had the pleasure of reviewing the Grizzly Adam Beard Care bundle. The kit contains products would cost £44.95 (but a lot more if all purchased separately). Included in the bundle is:

  • BEARD WASH 200ml – A Gentle Beard Shampoo and Wash by Grizzly Adam – Formulated Specifically For Your Beard and Moustache
  • PREMIUM BEARD OIL for Men – Keep Your Beard Healthy, Groomed and Tamed Naturally. Moisturizes Beard Hair and Skin, Eliminates Itching and Dandruff (Beard-druff) for a kissable and respectable beard. Use daily for the best beard effect
  • GRIZZLY ADAM BEARD BALM is the top gentlemans leave-in beard conditioner and thickener with natural oils to help with brittle beards, beard-druff, itching and split ends on the market. Fight patchiness! Use daily for the best beard effect

Upon opening the package, I was immediately impressed by the design and construct of the items. From the simple, yet elegant, cut logo and text, to the polished branded bottle, I was swept off my feet from the get go! If that wasn’t enough to get you excited about this product, the products have a clean and appealing scent! As soon as you open the package, you will smell the amazing goodness!

Firstly, we begin with the Beard Wash, it foams nicely with warm water and is easy to work into the beard. If you take a while to wake up in the morning then you’ll find this gives a much-needed zesty slap around the face!

Simple to apply and work into your morning shower routine adding no time to wait you would normally do. Lather it up whilst you wait for your shower gel to settle in elsewhere.

Secondly, the Beard oil. Other than the scent, which sets this item apart from its competitors is it helps to hydrate your skin and also to look after your beard at the same time. It works to provide essential oil to your skin and this penetrates the follicles of your hair. When your hair follicles are well moisturised this helps to ensure that your hair does not dry out or become brittle. Moisturised skin will be soft and smooth and using beard oil helps to avoid itchy or flaky skin which can cause discomfort.

To use, simply pour a dime-sized amount of product into the palm of your hand, rub your hands together, and lightly rub into your beard (use a nickel-sized amount for longer beards). And remember, when putting new products in your beard, it is best to do so after a shower. This allows your hair to fully absorb the product and its nutrients.

NOTE: When placing oily products into your beard, it is important to know that you should always start mid-shaft and rub down to the tips of the hair. Oily products should not be applied to the root of the hair since that will be the healthiest part of the hair. If desired you may want to blow dry your beard to dry out some of the excess oil.

This product can be used every day, or every few days (depending on your bearded needs). It is also important to understand this is an oil-based liquid and will not aid in keeping fly-aways and curly-q’s down as it doesn’t have enough weight to make your hair lay flat. After three weeks of use, my beard feels softer and in better quality, it has aided in keeping my hair untangled.

Next comes the Wax.  There are a few ways of applying this product to your mustache. The first way is to use the back of your nail to scrape away small layers of wax and ball them up (about the size of a skittle). Rub the skittle-sized wax between your two index fingers until it becomes fibrous when separating your fingers. Once this is done, slowly spread the wax on one side of the mustache, starting from the center of the lip and moving out to the tip.

The wax holds fairly well. Inevitably you will have to monitor your mustache, as the wax may degrade throughout the day (especially when you eat and drink a lot, or if your body generates a good amount of heat). Still, this wax holds up better than any other that I have tried to date.

This all-natural, leave-in conditioner is perfectly formulated to prevent split ends, control frizz and tangles, soften whiskers for those intimate encounters, relieve dry, itchy skin, reduce patchiness, and make you and your awesome beard much more attractive. Beard Balm works for all varieties and lengths of facial hair.

GA1

So the question is, would we recommend this product? Based on the scent alone, yes! However, at a price point of £44.95 for the set, it definitely ranges on the more expensive side of things. But as the saying goes, you get what you pay for, and in this case you get a good quality product that smells good and lasts relatively long. The delivery of the product was quick and pain-free, costing £3.99 the product arrived in 2 days! Easy to work into the routine, not time consuming at all and sizes are bang on for value for money – a lot of others in the market are very expensive for lower quantity.  Either way you can’t go wrong with Grizzly Adam Beard Care.

Would we use it again? YES!
