Festival Must-Haves 2017

Festival menswear for the style for summer
What are you up for this summer? Staying home? Jetting off to warmer climes? Or joining the festivals? It’s not over yet!

Ban the boohoo’s this summer by being wardrobe ready for every festival you’re off to.

We’re just ahead of Creamfields, V-festival, Bestival and many more, so now it’s vital to get your summer wardrobe in check.

With our pals at boohooMAN we’ve pulled together some of the key essentials and things to think about this festival season, to make sure you’re looking as hot as the music pumping from the speakers and sun burning down on you…

T-Shirt & Tanks

boohooMAN men's festival style
If you can pull off basic wear in the classic way, you can pull it off in any way. A plain tee or tank MUST be part of your festival wardrobe.

Especially a white tee – it’s timeless, it’s cool, it’s causal and totally effortless.

Print & Pattern

Besides the clean basics, you NEED to incorporate print and/or patterns into your festival wardrobe.

This season band-tees are top of the bill. SO be the headline act in your group of mates.

If you never wear colours, print or patterns for your everyday outfit, THIS is the time to be playful and try out some new things in clothing! As far as festival fashion is concerned, everything goes (since you’ll find all types of people at a festival).

Denim Is Hot

Don’t hesitate about investing in great denim items. It’s a cool all-season essential that can be worn season after season.

If you’re unsure about what kind of wash you should go for, the mid/light-toned blue is IT. Light wash denim is totally stylish and summery, and you will find lots of inspiration for it in the recent street styles.

Black denim is also a great choice that works very well with white and other basic colours.

Jeans (Light, Loose & Raw)

Add denim jeans to the top of your “what to wear” list.

There has been a movement away from the mid-wash towards lighter washes and if you really wanna prove your style game, it’s time to switch out the skinny styles and look for something roomier.

If you’re looking for something different and attention-grapping, go for overalls or ripped, raw denim. Up its low-key vibe with a clean tee, sneakers or boots.

Shorts

Long story short – as summer heats up – bring back your shorts. Knee-length denim options are a good way to go. Chino shorts are also ideal and can be both dressed up and down.

Still, keep in mind that festivals are a great opportunity to be a bit more playful with your fashion choices. Search for different colours or shorts with prints.

Hoodies and Sweatshirts

As the sun sets, you will likely need to layer up. A cotton sweatshirt is a must-have and a comfortable piece that can be tied around your waist or shoulders during the day and thrown on when required.

Opt for basics in different colours and perhaps something with print.

Keep your festival look easy and relaxed by wearing a hoodie.

Go for either a zip hoodie or a pullover, depending on what look you want. After you’ve made your choice, it’s just as easy as pulling on some cool jeans and a pair of lace-up boots or sneakers.

Comfy Shoes

Festival or not. Shoes are necessary.

The new cult, classic, minimalistic white sneakers are totally IN and simply a must-have. Still, keep in mind that festivals can get quite messy so if it’s a pair you love, buy another in case they get super dirty.

Boots, on the other hand, are also totally EPIC for festivals and slightly more bohemian inspired.

However, ensure that you have a stylish pair of shoes (or more) and that they are comfortable and will complement most of your festival outfits.

If it rains…

At festivals in Europe, you can’t always trust the weather, so be prepared.

Luckily, dressing for showers can be stylish: Bring a cool pair of wellies, a rain jacket and an umbrella if necessary.

The Gentleman’s Grooming Show 2016

When it comes to male grooming habits, there’s definitely been a shift in attitude over the years. Gone are the days when guys would just roll out of bed, hop into the shower, and be out the door in 5 minutes. Now, they rock a skin care routine that would probably give the average female a run for her money.

With 52% of male consumers considering their appearance to be either important or very important, the male grooming market is rapidly evolving, with cosmetic sales predicted to reach a staggering £121 million by 2018. Brands have recognised the growing market and the need for male-specific products that allow customers to feel comfortable in the beauty aisle. Despite male grooming being socially accepted, it’s still important for it to be considered a masculine activity, (something companies must remember if they want their products to fly off the shelf).

Well we may have the answer….

The Gentleman’s Grooming Show 2016 is an event celebrating the modern man and male grooming – showcasing the industry’s very best products and services on offer, and hope to guide, inspire and educate you, the modern day gentleman.
