5 Reasons to Start a Blog

The blogosphere is getting ever bigger and more crowded. Many have flocked to this frontier of opportunities, determined to pierce through the noise with killer ideas and writing prowess. After all, in this day and age of digital marvels, every individual is a brand on their own. And in case you forge a stellar blog and attract huge traffic, the sky is the limit. The spoils come in the form of praise, money, connections, reputation, self-indulgence – you name it. So, here are some hard-hitting reasons why you definitely need a blog.

Being cool and hip

Ok, things may have spiraled out of control with every other person blogging about something. But, in every pile of junk lies a treasure snowed under. Those who stand out blog about something they are passionate about and they are damn good at it. It pays off to be authentic and you can let your freak flag fly. You strive to get on top of emerging trends and get to know cool, well-known people. Beyond everything else, you can show off, express your ideas, and receive (hopefully) a positive feedback.

Blogging is easy and accessible

If you have a knack for writing, blogging is a real no-brainer. Perhaps the hardest part is setting the website up. But, with the help of platforms like WordPress, one can do it without any knowledge of web creation or HTML. Moreover, hubs such as Burst are teeming with free stock photos that can make your posts more appealing. You can use all that free time for something creative and embrace blogging as a hobby. Of course, bear in mind that if you want to transition to pro blogging, you have to step up the game.

You can promote yourself

A blog is an amazing channel for self-promotion. Whether you want to come across as the coolest kid in town or climb up the career ladder, blogging is the way to go.  You have a sort of a digital resume that is constantly being updated. Likewise, you effectively become an online publisher. The fact that one can connect with other fellow bloggers or industry influencers also helps. Building such a network can pay many dividends, while going viral brings you a ton of attention and opens plenty of new doors.

It is good business

The almighty Google seems to love blogs: it crawls blog pages eagerly and lists them in the search. This is your chance to tap into an immense amount of traffic and attract wide audience. Once that happens, you have various methods to monetize your blogging efforts. Many people manage to bring home the bacon just by blogging. Ad revenue, for instance, is one of the greatest sources of passive income. As for entrepreneurs, they mostly aim to establish an expert reputation and empower their businesses.

You become a better person

No, seriously guys. Blogging drives you to grow personally. You start wondering about what it is that makes you unique, and how you can inspire others. To engage the audience and earn its trust, one has to solve problems, as well as teach, entertain and help out. Such a noble and heartwarming cause this is and potentially lucrative on top of it. Having someone thank you personally really makes your day, but at the very least, you are able to meet new people and hone your writing and communication skills.

It is a win-win

Whether you want to make the world a better place or engage in shameless self-promotion, blogging is a powerful tool in the arsenal. There are few things that bring as much satisfaction as successful post spreading across social media like wildfire. This activity can change you, your life, and people around you. So, do not hesitate to let your online persona fully shine. But, enough of me: it is your turn now. Go ahead and blog your way to online greatness. What do you stand to lose, except money, time and good rep, that is?

7 Reasons Why You’re Not Losing Weight

Trying to lose weight is one of the hardest things you could ever do. Of course, it’s not as hard as giving birth to triplets, writing a 1000-page-long dystopian/encyclopedic novel like Infinite Jest or building a successful multinational company, but it’s just as challenging. The problem with losing weight, however, is not the process of adopting new habits, but sticking to the plan. When you’re putting in a lot of hard work, a slow progress can really bring you down. Here are seven most common reasons why you’re not losing enough weight.

Cheating on Your Diet

Having a diet prescribed by a nutritionist is probably the best way to ensure weight loss as it’s created especially for your body and is the most suitable for you. All you need to do is stick to it for long enough, which is something research proves as well. Only with a thoroughly thought-out diet will you be able to achieve permanent weight loss, so stop trying to be innovative and just listen to an expert’s advice.

Balance Hormones Properly

This is another thing people forget, but scientists agree it’s quite important. While some claim hormones have nothing to do with weight, others point out how vital cortisol, thyroid, estrogen, testosterone and other hormones are when it comes to regulating weight. So, if you’re not slimming down, you might want to visit an endocrinologist who’ll explain the real connection between hormones and weight loss and why a proper balance of hormones is crucial.

Cut the Sugar

Sugar is among the most serious opponents of weight loss and some scientists even classify it as an addiction. Due to that, it’s understandable why it’s so hard to stay away from sweets, but, if you want to see real results, controlling your sugar cravings is essential. There are several ways to do it, from switching to fruits to tricking your mind with water, and you just need to find a method that works for you.

Lift, Push, Run!

Hitting the gym is arguably the best way to lose weight and ensure long-term success. Unfortunately, it’s not enough, claims a 2015 study, and you won’t do much if you rely only on standard gym exercises. Therefore, taking things to the next level is much more meaningful – investing some money in personal training with a trustworthy trainer like Gym To You, for instance, could do the trick. It will help you lose more weight in less time and continue doing so until you reach your goals.

Relax and Sleep

No matter what you’ve heard, sleeping doesn’t make you gain weight. On the contrary, it relaxes you, gives you more time to process food and prepares you for an intense morning workout session. Both sleep experts and dietitians agree that more sleep equals less weight, which is why it’s important to establish a healthy sleeping pattern. Keep in mind that your weight will decrease only after you manage to get better sleep and stop being sleep deprived.

Forget Everything

Although it’s been proven that anxiety causes weight loss, this isn’t something to look forward to. Constantly being under stress can wear you out quite quickly and you need to be mentally stable to tackle your weight problems adequately. Therefore, try to eliminate stress from your everyday life before embarking on this complex journey.

Ask for Help

When losing weight, accept all the help you can get, from supportive friends and family to medical professionals and a few other things. Among the most popular ways to lose weight permanently is turning to fat binders that prevent fat molecules from staying inside your body. That way, they help you regulate the amount of fat you consume and essentially make you skinnier. With so many of these on the market, make certain you’ve done your research before picking which ones to take. For example, millions of people worldwide opt for medical fat binders that are effective and supported by nutritionists and pharmaceutical experts as well.

Other Reasons

Some of the other reasons you can’t seem to lose weight include not drinking enough water, eating too much, skipping on protein and being physically inactive. If you take care of these issues, you’ll start seeing progress and quickly reach your desired weight.

10 Things You Must Do While Visiting Sydney

Whatever your reason might be for visiting this glorious city, and the available time you might have – it’s not enough. As soon as you hit the clubs on your first night, or get a glimpse at their majestic beaches, you’ll instantly want to spend at least one whole lifetime (if not more) in this insane, but versatile place.

The hotspot for thrill-seekers, foodies, culture vultures and laid-back locals, no matter who you are, you’ll fit right in the colourful crowd of Aussies, and you can expect a whole range of activities to spice up your trip. Now buckle up and enjoy the ride!

Climb the Harbour Bridge

Travel to the Sydney harbour bridge, Australia

Sydney harbour bridge, Australia

This one is a no-brainer. This architectural masterpiece is the stamp of the city and an adventure with a gorgeous view, so it’s not only worth the rate, which is $200 plus, but also a bucket-list type of an experience.

Even if you opt for the quickest version named the express climb, you’ll find yourself in awe of the bridge’s raw power as you go deeper into its steel arches. You’ll be able to see the entire Harbour, a huge portion of the city itself, and the iconic Sydney Opera House.

Take the plunge

No visit to Sydney can be complete without a dive into the ocean. If you surf, even better, the city offers a whole range of surfing-friendly spots such as in Manly or Bondi, which also leads you to another perfect, unavoidable experience – coastal walks.

Bring your board or just your shades (and a bottle of water, otherwise you’ll go nuts), and test the waters of all the cool beaches from Bondi to Coogee, where you can also find excellent whale-watching viewpoints, or from Spit to Manly, and head to some of the locals’ favourite brunch spots to kick-start your early morning adventures.

Put on your foodie hat

There’s no better way to have an authentic taste of the city than to indulge in its exquisite cuisine. Few places can be on a par with Sydney’s rapidly growing food scene, so fuel your stay with some of their delicious fresh meals, proudly made by the ingenious local chefs.

Della Hyde in one of their most beloved restaurants in Darlinghurst and a perfect start that will give you plenty of energy for your busy itinerary. There’s no point in roaming the city on an empty stomach – it just ruins the whole experience. Have a taste of their steamed dumplings with a tasty dipping sauce, round it off with a delish cocktail and you’re good to go.

Have a drink at the Opera Bar

Whilst you’re at the harbour, you may as well grab a drink at the Opera Bar. Time it right and you’ll watch the sun set behind the Sydney Opera House and grab a prime opportunity for a picture. It’s all open plan and airy, so you can enjoy the sun all year round.

Situated right by the waters edge, Opera Bar is often described as the best beer garden in the world. Be swept away by the panoramic views of the Sydney Opera House, Harbour Bridge, CBD and beautiful Harbour. Whether it’s breakfast, a lazy lunch, a pre show dinner date or simply a cocktail; Opera Bar is truly perfect for any occasion.

Kayak

Sydney’s rich bushland, versatile creeks and hidden oases are perfectly accessible if you’re ready to roll up your sleeves and get those paddles moving. You’re in the city of water sports, for crying out loud, the effort is half the fun!

You can go it alone or join a group, but don’t miss out on the Narrabeen Lagoon, the Lane Cover River or the Royal National Park – they are all beautiful, mysterious and worth the paddle.

Sydney Zoo

No true Australian experience can go without a wildlife encounter! Head out to the Sydney Wildlife Zoo to meet the friendly wallabies, cuddly koalas, wombats and the ferocious saltwater crocodiles. You can even book a behind-the-scenes tour and have an up-close greeting with some of the friendliest lizards and mammals you’ve seen.

The keepers can take you through the Kangaroo Walk-About, the Koala Encounter and the Butterfly Tropics, and follow up the visit with enticing stories and facts on the local wildlife.

Royal Botanic Garden

Even if it’s just for the afternoon picnic snack, this incredible work of art is teeming with the friendly locals, and there’s always a spot in the shade for you to rest and absorb the Zen energy of the green surroundings.

You’ll get to see some of the most exotic plant species from Australia and the Pacific region bundled up in the Royal Botanic Garden, and you can join a free guided tour which starts every morning at 10:30 from the heart of the park.

The Blue Mountains

Get your hike on! If you fancy amazing views, and a break from city life, you should definitely hire a car and head 2 hours in-land to meet the mountains and three-sisters.

The Blue Mountains is a rugged region west of Sydney in Australia’s New South Wales. Known for dramatic scenery, it encompasses steep cliffs, eucalyptus forests, waterfalls and villages dotted with guesthouses, galleries and gardens. Katoomba, a major town in the area, borders Blue Mountains National Park and its bushwalking trails. Echo Point affords views of the storied Three Sisters sandstone rock formation.
If you’re on a budget, it’s your best mate. It’s definitely underrated and worth the visit. Remember to ask what the blue haze is…not all is what it seems!

Head out to Cockatoo

A well-kept secret of the local Aussies, the Cockatoo Island is more than just a fun destination for a spooky history lesson on the convicts, but also a cherished BBQ spot for a Sunday of relaxing. Beautiful beaches, yet another kayaking chance, tennis courts, and a perfect campsite, the island is chock-full of fun if you plan your stay well.

Bondi to Coogee Walk

Combining beaches, rockpools, parks and spectacular coastal views, the Bondi to Coogee Coastal Walk winds its way along 6 km of picturesque coastal paths at the edge of Sydney’s eastern suburbs. Starting by the iconic Bondi Icebergs, just above the Bondi Baths, the walk takes between 1-2 hours at a leisurely pace, offering plenty to see and do along the way.

Make your way up a set of steep stairs near the start of the walk and marvel at Aboriginal rock carvings in Marks Park, one of the walk’s highest points and a prime whale watching spot during the migration season between May and November. Heading towards Tamarama you’ll pass by Mackenzie’s Point Beach, one of the smallest beaches in the State which is only accessible at low tide. The beach is not suitable for swimming, but is a popular surfing spot and a great place to relax by the water.

What do we really want for our Stag Do?

stag party

Your best mate has stopped coming out as much, he’s under the thumb. Then he drops the bombshell that he’s getting married and it blows the whole pack apart, how are you all going to continue?

Ahh well “he’d drifted anyway.” But then, he pulls it back from the gutter and pops you the question…”will you be my best man, mate?”

You’re over-the-fucking-moon. Mainly because it’s your one and only chance to stitch him up royally and get away with it.

So, us men want to have an unforgettable time and send their brother off through the gates of marriage and into a life of monogamy and baby farts, right? Well, yes, but in order to actually organize an unforgettable stag do, you as the best man need to plan every single earth-shaking, knee-trembling moment.

So, let’s get you prepared for the night of the groom’s life.

Men want inebriation

You don’t plan on being sober right? Not a single amazing story in history has ever started with “and then I told him I’ll just have a glass of fresh lemonade”, who even drinks that? No, you need to organize and plan the amount and variety of alcohol involved, as well as the management of barfing and post-barfing damage control.

Start the party off light with beer and cocktails, and when the crowd gets warmed up, you can move onto the heavy artillery. A key tip to remember is keeping the groom only slightly above tipsy at all times, so that he can enjoy the entire party and actually have recollection of it in the morning. You don’t want the groom to fall asleep before midnight and as for the rest, well, they’re free to make their own mistakes.

A location that has it all is Bierkeller. Floor to ceiling beers and ‘bants’.

Men want games

Men's stag Do - Zorbing and playing football

A stag do doesn’t start at night, and certainly doesn’t entail only drinking and ruining a hotel room. No, a real stag do starts in the morning and ends with the following day’s walk of shame. If you want to organize a dynamic and memorable stag do, you want to take the crew for some sports and games in the great outdoors.

Start in the morning with some rugby to get the blood flowing and try not to dislocate anything or break a bone before the party starts in the evening. Move onto more extreme sports, like dirt bike riding and zip lining, and then go to the beach for some jet skiing along the coast.

Then, let the crew go home for an hour to get dressed and ready for the night of their life, and pick them all up in a limo that will take you to the first destination of the night. Start the night off with some poker and whisky and lead it into a private club where you will play drunken darts, listen to loud music and shoot some pool. After that, the party can begin.

Men want women

Hooters girls working in Hooters

What’s a stag do without female entertainment? A little eye candy making you do some “hard” time? There are plenty of female entertainment options available, and while you can go the traditional route and take your party to a strip club (or bring the strip club to you), you might want to do something unique and organize a more personal experience the crew will never forget.

There is a new type of female entertainment around, including gorgeous women and personal waitressing. At Sydney Topless Waitresses, you can hire perfect girls to wait on your boys with their sexy charms and professional skills, making sure that every single guest is taken care of and having the time of his life.

If you’re looking for a city break in this country, head no further than Nottingham. Home to the last UK based Hooters, you can drink copious amounts of lager, eat endless chicken wings, thighs, or ‘breasts.’ Cheeky.

When it comes to it, we are simple enough fellows, we don’t ask for diversity but we do know what we want. Planning an unforgettable stag do doesn’t have to be rocket science, you just have to know the basic formula: drink just enough, play hard, and surround yourself with gorgeous women. Simple.

Do him proud, be the best-man, you can.

7 Tips for Buying a Car on a Budget

car

Purchasing a new car is amazing! Just imagine being behind a wheel, listening to a powerful engine, driving for hours and hours with nothing but the road in front of you. There’s nothing more liberating than putting the pedal to the metal and feeling like a real man. However, even the realest of men need to think about money and can’t buy just any car they see. If you’re looking for ways to buy a car on a budget, here are a few helpful tips.

Define the Budget

First of all, define exactly how much money you have. Once you determine the number, start searching for the best option you can afford. Nevertheless, keep in mind that your car money is just for your car and don’t spend it on groceries or bills. Since you’ll have to pay for various taxes, fees and warranties, define your budget and don’t forget that the true cost of owning a car is much higher than the sticker price.

Invest What You Have

If you already own a car, use it as a down payment for a newer model – it’s not like you’ll be driving it after you get a new one. A down payment significantly affects your costs and if you manage to make your down payment higher, your monthly payment will be lower. Moreover, this is a great way to get rid of your old vehicle. That way, you’ll be ready to start fresh and save some money in the process.

Month After Month

If you financial situation is unstable, make projections and figure out how much you’ll be able to spend on your car in the future. Think about gas, insurance, maintenance and registration – not being able to afford these expenses can turn out to be a major problem. A great way to determine how much you can spend on your car is the 20/4/10 rule. According to it, you should put down 20% of the car’s value, spend about 10% of your monthly income on expenses, and complete the financing process in under four years. This doesn’t work for everyone, of course, but might help you stay afloat.

Maintaining on a Budget

After purchasing a cheap car, you can continue saving money on smaller expenses. Instead of buying brand new tires and seat covers, use the ones from your old car. If you plan ahead, you can save a lot even on essential things – using Nulon engine oil, for example, instead of other brands means you’ll be getting a high-quality product and the absolutely best value for your money.

Perfect Timing

If you’re purchasing a new car, yet still want to save a dollar or two, plan a visit to the dealership carefully. Most companies offer discounts from time to time and lots of people hence buy cars in December, at the end-of-the-year sale, or in the summer, just before new and expensive models are introduced. Try looking for slightly damaged cars, too: a few scratches here and there don’t mean anything, but will lower the price significantly.

Ask for Help

Getting all the help you can get is essential. You are probably not an expert, but you surely know someone with more experience. Ask your brother, father, neighbor or friend to come along and take their opinion into consideration. A knowledgeable car enthusiast will tell you how to pick the right model and help you stick to your budget.

Don’t Trust the Salesman

Even though salesmen are supposed to assist you, not everyone is as honest as you might think. Remember: the more money they take from you, the higher their salary is, so be very careful. Ask questions, especially when getting a used car, but don’t fall for their tricks – and they surely know lots of ways to trick you. So, don’t be gullible, but stay strong and determined!

Save More Money

Once you get the perfect car, find out how to save money in the future. Finding affordable parts, saving money on gas by carpooling, and avoiding damages and frequent repairs will certainly do the trick.

Christmas Guide to Last Minute Gifts for Guys

High Street Gent - Christmas Presents under Christmas Tree

Some people are ready to go over the top to get that special someone a gift of their dreams. However, spending excessively on gifts is probably not something you can do every month and definitely not something you can afford twice a month. Now, birthday, Christmas and anniversary are occasions where the price tag doesn’t matter. Still, this doesn’t mean that a good present is necessarily an expensive one. This especially goes when gifting a guy.

So, are you after that perfect stocking filler? Already anticipating the look on his face (or, if your just buying for yourself this Christmas) here are a few great last minute ideas.

There’s still time lads and lasses, lets go-ho-ho-ho…

Wallet

The thing about men is that, although they like getting nice stuff, they value pragmatism above all else. A perfect way to combine the two is to get them a leather-bound wallet. This is also a perfect reminder of your devotion since they will remember you every time they use it. But you can even take this one step further and get your man a Covert Clip travel wallet. By having this wallet, you’re making this gift both unforgettable and completely unique because of it’s practicality and design.

Belt

One of the greatest things about buying a belt is that it’s something everyone wants, but seldom actually comes around to buy for themselves. Here, you will have a plethora of choice like whether you will go for something simple and practical or even buy something handmade  like The British Belt Company belt. All in all, this decision is not your own, since it should be based on the personal taste of the one the gift is intended for.

Socks

Traditionally, sweaters and socks are the most common Christmas gifts. Accidentally, they are also a perfect low-cost option for those who approach the holiday season on a tight budget. The London Sock Exchange offers socks, those with cutting edge patterns, tartan or polka dot motifs as classic as these presents get. However, if the person you’re gifting is a renowned jokester, you can even look for a prank-gift in a form of a particularly silly pair of socks. Needless to say, wearing these at any family gathering would be a great success.

Wristwatch

Some of these gifts are situational. For example, if you know that your friend, family member or a significant other has a job interview after the holidays, you may look for the way to help them out. Buying a full suit may be too expensive even for a Christmas gift. But, you can always get a useful accessory like a wristwatch or a tie. For those in love with retro, you may even want to consider buying a CIRCULR watch, minimalist design yet maximum style. This gift is particularly great for any outfit choice and occasion.

A Vintage Gift

It is human nature to always look at the times long gone buy through a prism of nostalgia. Seeing how they can’t bring back the time, the next closest thing these romantic dreamers resort to is collecting vintage items. If their home looks like more of a Victorian palace than a high-tech man-cave, you may want to consider getting them a nice vintage camera as a final touch. If money is really not the issue, you may even look for a vintage car and buy or, at least, rent it out for them.

Beard Grooming Kit

Another great idea would be to get them Arthur J Hawke beard grooming kit. Sure, everyone agrees that there is nothing more epic that a well-groomed full beard. Still, this is not something that just happens on its own. So, to help the person in question get on the right path, you could get them some starting products like beard oil, wax, and a moisturizer. This shows a great level of intimacy since it requires you to know their skin and hair type. Furthermore, you may also want to look for a nice beard comb and/or brush. Different materials both react and feel different in contact with your beard which is yet another thing to consider.

Underwear

Finally, you can get your friend a sexy, manly or even funny underwear. It all depends on the particular person as well as if the gifted one (pun intended) is going to be on their own when they unwrap it. The underwear that caught our eye is Tani USA. Those luxury underwear pieces are made of Micro Tencel® and Lycra® which makes them one of the most comfortable out there. Perfect for men on the run.

Lets wrap this up…

As you can see, there is a great choice of great gifts for you to go through. The final choice comes down to your personal preference and what you believe your friend/partner would like. Choosing a great gift is not that hard, but in some situations great simply isn’t great enough.

Underwear: Support During Sport

You can have a body of Idris Elba and a charm of Orlando Bloom, but you’ll never get anywhere showing up sloppy at the gym. Even more so, it’s not about the appearance, only – you need to be comfy under all the layers of your activewear in order to feel good while working out. Any man can tell you: if your underwear isn’t comfortable, you aren’t comfortable! Underwear that rides up, forms awkward bumps or leaves you hanging down there is a big no-no! Agreed?  Yes.

We’ve compiled a list of some of the best athletic gym wear choices and underwear on shelves, so you can get a head start on feeling amazing during your gym sessions and looking your best, afterwards.

Breathable fabrics

No matter how chic your activewear is looking, unless it’s made of breathable fabrics, like cotton or technologically advanced blends, forget it. Not only will you be sweating heavily, but you’ll be running the risk of spreading an odor most of the gym members will probably want to puke from.

If you’re led by the idea of extra pounds shed by sweating in all the horrible synthetics, please stop now. Apart from the aforementioned stink, your sweating results will only be temporary and can be dangerous. Choose breathable fabrics that feel good on your skin. So, friend – say goodbye to tighty-whities and embrace streamlined UFM Underwear boxer-briefs that offer support, comfort and enough elasticity suited to men who lead active lives.

We’ve had the privilege to test run the adjustable crotch pouch range, which has proved to be an amazing pair of pants. The drawstring around the seam of your crotch can be tightened to lift your member (no matter what size you are) so there’s no chaffing during the sweatiness of a workout.

Awesome support

You know it, we know it – unless your package is fully supported, not only will you be dangling around playing bat game, but you’ll be so uncomfortable (and limited in doing most exercises) that you’ll want to scream!

These days, men are blessed to have a variety of brands to browse through until they find their perfect pair, but until you do, let us educate you on something – praxis has shown that briefs in mostly cotton with a blend of just enough polyester and Lycra to wick like a synthetic boxer-brief are the perfect options for all the boys who don’t want to skip their gym day. If you are a runner, we suggest going for a polyester-and-elastane blend that packs everything up just right. Make sure your choice is moisture-wicking, stink-resistant shorts with a barely-there feel and awesome support. Rumor has it Ryder Wear – workout apparel is killing it in this area.

Fitted gear

While baggy clothes may visually hide a few extra pounds you are working on shedding, they’re doing you no good when it comes to working out. Quite the opposite, actually – they impede movement, leading to unsexy mishaps should they become stuck in a machine or trip you. To avoid such misery, select workout apparel that follows the lines of your body without being skin-tight; skin-tight is never sexy at the gym unless you’ve got the body of Adonis. Compressed leggings are a fine option as they’ll be comfy enough to let you move around but will still follow the line of the leg suitably. Choose the material that won’t leave you sweating or stinky and go for colors that inspire your determination to get a leaner physique.

Gym must haves for Autumn

Summer is almost over and our sunny days on the swimming pools or at the beach are numbered. For a lot of people, this means going back to their regular workouts in the gym. And with this comes the age old question, what should we pack in our gym bag? Some people are organized and already know what they need, but the others have a hard time keeping track of what’s necessary and what’s not. That is why we compiled this list of must haves for your gym workouts this fall.

Water Bottle

This is a no-brainer for all gym rats out there, but a lot of people forget to put one in their gym bag. If you are one of the forgetful bunch, then we recommend that you to get one high-quality water bottle you will only use for the gym and always keep in your bag. They don’t wear out easily and don’t require much cleaning.

Gym Clothing

Workout clothes is something every gym lovers should think about. Sweating in the gym is normal and necessary, if you’re not sweating, you are not training hard enough and wearing the right gear.. That’s why you should look for high quality gym clothing like Distinct Clothing offers. Good pair of gym fit t-shirts or tanks and compression shorts are a must this fall.

Jockstraps

Jockstraps are very important if you do a lot of cardio and have a lot of bouncing down there. They will provide a much-needed support and keep your whole “package” in one place. There are a lot of models you can choose from, but essentially, what makes a good jockstrap is a resilient rear strap and a firm waistband. Pick designs that you like at JockUp and you are set to run for as long as you want. Also, wash your jockstrap frequently because they tend to get dirtier and smellier faster than the regular underwear.

Sports Watch

A good sports watch is absolutely necessary for gym workouts that include running or multiple rounds of exercises. We know that you can count in your head how much sets and reps you did on the bench, but if you really want to enhance your performance while doing time sensitive exercises, we strongly recommend that you get one. If you keep track of the time to the millisecond, you can see where your strength dips and improve on that. Some of the best sport watches you can check out here.

Body shapers

One last thing on our list is body shapers. The body shaper is essentially underwear that goes beneath your clothes to make your body figure leaner and add additional support. Some people question the need for body shapers in your workouts, but we think that they have wider use than just giving you a better look. Because of their tight grip they can provide additional support for your back, chest or belly, depending on what model you are wearing. Festival Fundamentals

czech_summer_festival

Aren’t you getting thrilled about all the upcoming festivals? ‘Cos we are!

Summer alone is probably the most beautiful time of the year; add quality music to that – you’ve got yourself a paradise on earth. Tanned skin, tricky temptations, devilish inhibitions released, beautiful exhaustion, inexplicable excitement, love, good vibes, beats that are taking you higher and all the dancing may be just some of the awesome reasons why you should fall in love with every single moment of your festival time.

Don’t you think festival fashion tips for guys seem comparatively thin on the ground. Then again, do we really care?

Let’s be honest, will there be beers? Yes. Will there be sun? Hopefully. Will there be unforgettable performances you’ll bear witness to and boastingly reference at parties in the future? Most likely. So, why the hell would you care about you’ve got on?

Well you’ll have an amazing time – but, after all, a few things you need to think about prior to dispatching on your summer ride. Don’t get stressed all of a sudden – it’s nothing serious… but it’s definitely helpful! Here’s what we are talking about:

1. Protect your feet!

festival-goers

However cool you might think you look in your trainers, they are not the right footwear for a British festival. Instead, prepare for inclement weather with a pair of waterproof, slip-resistant wellies (remember, kids, mud is a great leveller).

The Independent consulted festival goers of all ages to bring you the best boots for the job – from inexpensive pairs that will keep your feet dry and mud free, to seriously hard-wearing ones that will last for a decade. Take a look here.

2. Wear the right pair of underwear

Drake and Hutch underwear

While to some of you this may be a given, there are others who aren’t really thinking in that direction. Truth is, when you are going to a festival, no matter how stylish and edgy your personal fashion is, you need to be comfortable first and then follow up with some good fashion. Naturally, a huge (and maybe base, even) part of that comfort is the type of underwear you have on. You want something you can move in, something that won’t give you a wedgie (go on, laugh) or feel unnatural on your skin. So the perfect choice is Drake & Hutch underwear. Their fabrics are  made of natural fibers and the cut flattering. Just think about it – you’ll be moving around in that underwear, dancing, walking, sweating (maybe even pee a little when the line to the bathroom is lengthy or the run to the nearest bush too long) – so you want them to be of the right, comfy kind.

…and if we’re being honest, you’re going to be in the same pair for days, aren’t you chaps? Make sure they’re decent ones!

3. Kill ‘em with style

Festivals are all about self-expression, crazy outfits and released inhibitions… and are there better ways to express yourself at occasions like these, but wear things that show your amazing personality? Put on your favourite funky tee and rock that festival fashion better than anyone around. Go for the Dedicated tees or cropped tops, that amazing graphic print or your floral boho and enjoy the ride! It would be wise to pack another shirt you’ll be changing into after you get soaking wet (there’ll be a lot of dancing involved, after all).

Remember however, the nights can get chilly, so it’s always worth chucking your favourite hoodie or sweater jumper in your bag to wrap up when the sun goes down.

4. Put on a pair of weather appropriate shorts

Bowler & Beach Festival

It’s understandable you want to rock your style and show it off at every corner, as you should. But! Be smart enough to go for clothes that are both stylish and functional. Opting for a pair of Bowler & Beach shorts instead of a pair that you would be freezing/sweating in is way smarter and way more practical. Plus, you don’t want people looking at you like you’ve gone crazy for wearing a see-through mini shorts with 60 ºF out!

If Glastonbury this year is anything to go by, it’s going to be wet, it’s going to be muddy, so you want something that will dry quickly, not be too-clingy and always breezey.

5. Bring a raincoat

Festival Goers endure the rain at main stage during T In The Park Festival

It’s true – we often associate raincoats to those huge, shapeless pieces of clothes our mums used to dress us in whenever there was even a hint of rain out. But guess what – turns out mums knew their business after all. Not only that raincoats do actually protect from the (heavy) rains but they’re also making a comeback in the fashion world! They now come in variety of cuts, colours and prints, and are definitely a piece everyone should include in their wardrobe, especially when they are going somewhere for a longer period of time. The best raincoat pieces we’ve spotted lately are on Peter’s of Kensington website, so make sure you do your buying before hitting the road.

Lastly, stay safe, wear sun cream and make some memories.

Have fun, take photos, enjoy your time and make mental images of everything you fail to capture through your lens – you’ll remember it for life!

Feel free to let us know which festivals you’re attending this year and what you will be wearing in the comments section below…

Best gifts for guys

They often say girls are terrible to shop for; will they like it, will they enjoy it, is it modern enough, is it passé, will they be enchanted by that present’s utility as much as with its packaging, etc. Well, guess what – guys are just as hard to please!

Luckily, we’ve managed to brainstorm a list of presents that will make even the biggest demanders happy, and we’re happy to share it with you.

Ready?
Set.
GO!

A quality aftershave

IMG_4896

Like you already didn’t know this… but, truth is – when we start thinking about what to buy for someone, we get wrapped into so many ideas that we often don’t remember the classic, amazing types of presents everyone adores.

If you already know your man’s preferences, choose a perfume like Gruhme that agrees with his charm, energy and oomph, and let him love every second of it! If, however, you aren’t as sure which one to buy, talk to his best friend(s) to see what he may enjoy. Each time that perfume touches his skin, he’s going to think of you. Too cute!

Collar stiffeners

For guys who are into their smart suits, tailored jackets and custom made shirts, high quality collar stiffeners are the present to buy.

All the gorgeous, dashing gentleman deserve only the best and our favorite option to go with is StiffiesTM. Why? They feature super strong magnetic buttons which will allow for collar placement into any position your man may like. Don’t worry, you’ll still be able to unbutton it very quickly. 😉

A tie

Is your man a business mogul who likes his outfits and accessories that fit like a glove? Well, if so – you can’t go wrong with buying him a Brother & Gent tie. No, not just any tie; make sure your present is of enviable quality with a pattern not many gentlemen can rock. Throw in a golden pin to follow, and you’re running for making this his favorite present.

High quality underwear

No man ever has shrugged his shoulders in indifference when he was presented with a pair (or an entire pack) of Jacksy underwear that emphasizes his assets (or simply gives his assets the right support)! Buying a present like this one is easy – you already know his size (oh, come on, like we didn’t know that!) and you know what his favorite brand is, so – it really shouldn’t be hard.

Grooming kit

No beard should ever suffer (Was this pun intended? Oh well…)! For all the boys and men out there who like their beards properly attended to and groomed well, a Manly Stuff grooming kit is the thing to get them. It’s highly likely your man’s got one of those awesome hipster beards going on, and we guarantee he’ll be over the moon when you buy him this. Add a few beard products, too – like beard oils, gels, beard comb and such stuff and you’ll capture his heart.

A modern watch

Perfect for men of all profiles, a modern watch will make even those hard to please totally melt. Depending on your man’s style, pick a Detomaso watch that will agree with his wrist size and his overall accessorize preferences. If he’s into vintage accessorize, find a watch he’ll go crazy over and inscribe it. Adorable!

Fitness Gear

No wonder your man’s got that body! With so many hours in the gym under his belt, he better be smokin’! If fitness is his thing, make sure you buy him something he will actually use – great workout gear, proteins, golden gym membership card and such gym necessities. Additionally, if he’s into outdoor sports like riding a bike, jogging or riding a motorcycle, buy him the latest fitness hit – reflective tapes. They are made in various colors, are super easy to wear with virtually any type of clothes and will make him safe during his late night runs. The best models can be bought at Brilliant Reflective page, for sure.

Whichever of the presents you opt for, make sure you present them with a huge smile and an embrace that will make your man feel loved, desired and oh-so-special!
